Salzburg University of Applied Sciences employs 400 people across its Urstein, Kuchl, Uniklinikum Salzburg and Schwarzach campuses. There are 3200 students who have a choice of 18 bachelor and 12 master programmes across four faculties to study in – Engineering; Business and Social Sciences; Design, Media and Arts; and Health Studies.
 
Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is working with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention (LBI-DHP) to develop new technology-enabled methods for sustainable lifestyle change to improve health and well-being, especially for cardiovascular disease.
 
The Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes are part of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (LBG), a non-profit organization with a thematic focus on medicine, as well as the life sciences, humanities, social sciences and cultural studies, which specifically initiates new research topics in Austria. LBG currently operates 21 research units together with academic and applied partners, developing and testing new forms of collaboration between academia and non-scientific stakeholders such as companies, the public sector and civil society. Socially relevant challenges that research can help to address are to be identified and addressed at an early stage. LBG employs more than 550 people.
 
To support the development of innovative software solutions for health support and lifestyle change at LBI-DHP, we invite applications for the following position as Junior Researcher (m/f/d), limited until 30.9.2023, full-time: Junior Developer Digital Health (m/f/d)

Tasks

  • Visualization of prototypical applications (e.g. via Adobe XD or similar)
  • Adaptation and further development of software components / applications in the field of digital health to improve health-related quality of life (client- and server-side)
  • Participation in evaluations and studies in the field of technology-assisted lifestyle change
  • Research activity with a focus on human-computer interaction or user experience
  • Supervising student projects as well as bachelor and master theses  

Profile

  • Subject-specific university degree in the field of computer science / software development / human-computer interaction / interaction design (bachelor's/master's/diploma)
  • Good knowledge and willingness to learn in the field of software development for web and mobile technologies
  • Research interest in the area of human-computer interaction or user experience
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Ability to work in a team, social and communication skills

About the role

Hours: 40 hours per week (of which 36 hours as provision for the LBI-DHP)
Location: Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital Health and Prevention at the Salzburg Provincial Hospitals (Salzburg, Mülln district) as well as Campus Urstein
Start date: by arrangement
Contract length: 30.09.2022
Salary: from EUR 37,702.00 total gross annual salary for 40 hours (salary level according to qualification and professional experience)
