Salzburg University of Applied Sciences employs 400 people across its Urstein, Kuchl, Uniklinikum Salzburg and Schwarzach campuses. There are 3200 students who have a choice of 18 bachelor and 12 master programmes across four faculties to study in – Engineering; Business and Social Sciences; Design, Media and Arts; and Health Studies.
 
The Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is working in a research project in the medical field together with the company medPhoton GmbH on innovative concepts for mobile computer tomographs. The focus of this position is on the use of Human-Computer Interaction methodologies and Augmented/Virtual Reality technologies. To support this project, we are advertising the following position as Junior Researcher (f/m/d) on the MultiMediaTechnology degree programme, limited to 3 years for 32 hours:

Tasks

  • Development of novel interaction and visualization concepts
  • Performing scientific studies and statistical evaluations to analyze novel concepts
  • Research focus on Human-Computer Interaction and Augmented/Virtual Reality
  • Close collaboration with company partners
  • Supervising student projects as well as bachelor and master theses

Profile

  • A completed master’s degree in computer science
  • Practical experience in the implementation of interactive applications (e.g., Unity)
  • Specialized scientific skills in human-computer interaction, Augmented/Virtual Reality development and statistical analysis skills are an advantage
  • Research interest and desire to publish in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction and Augmented/Virtual Reality
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent communicative and social skills

Salary: from EUR 34,720.00 total gross annual salary for 32 hours (salary level according to qualification and professional experience)
